Ludovic Deblois’s journey has been shaped by a rich diversity of experiences. First and foremost, he is a man with his feet firmly on the ground. Growing up in Picardy, he spent his school holidays trying his hand at different trades, working as an apprentice on production lines and on farms. He has always enjoyed discovering different worlds through hands-on experience and contact with others.
He is also a globetrotter. With his engineering degree in hand, he set out to explore the world, travelling on foot across several continents. More often than not, he carried books with him on his journeys, nurturing his love of writing. These travels would also have a profound influence on his professional path.
At 28, driven by his commitment to environmental causes, he left PSA Peugeot Citroën, his first employer, and joined CLS, a company founded by IFREMER and CNES and involved in the preservation of marine resources. He was entrusted with responsibility for its activities in Africa and the Middle East.
Working closely with ministries in numerous countries and with international organizations, he gained a deeper understanding of development challenges and relations with countries of the Global South. Above all, the experience strengthened his desire to make a greater contribution.
In 2008, together with a friend, he founded Sunpartner Technologies with the aim of expanding the use of solar energy. The company developed a portfolio of international patents based on photovoltaic glazing, which quickly attracted the interest of global industry leaders and led him to raise capital from industrial and financial investors. The work of his teams, recognized on several occasions, notably by the World Economic Forum, which named Sunpartner one of its 36 Technology Pioneers in 2014, opened up a wide range of applications. Throughout this entrepreneurial journey, he also contributed to the development of a French industrial ecosystem and helped raise awareness of the climate emergency through conferences and opinion pieces. In 2019, the company struggled to raise the funds needed to accelerate its commercial development, and its technology was transferred to Garmin, an American company that now uses it in its solar-powered watches.
After completing the transfer of Sunpartner Technologies, he decided to pursue writing, a project he had never forgotten. In 2020, he completed his first novel, Les licornes aussi renaissent de leurs cendres…, in which he portrays the harsh realities of economic and political power that he had witnessed firsthand during his years as an entrepreneur. A year later, in an essay entitled Autonomie(s), he invited readers to reflect on collective autonomy as a guiding principle for a fairer and more environmentally sustainable society. In 2022, he published Inversion, a novel set in the middle of the 21st century that questions the consequences of the choices we make today through a gripping and moving story. The book received a Lions Club literary award in 2024. Two years later, following two years of discussions with ethologists, neuroscientists and meteorologists, he completed a new novel, Il suffit parfois d’un cri…, published in early 2026.
Alongside his writing projects, Ludovic Deblois produces podcasts, analyses and foresight studies, and delivers talks for public and private organizations. His work with these organizations takes various forms and draws in particular on his years of experience across different sectors.
On the artistic side, he is also working with director Alexandre Castagnetti to adapt his novels for film and television.
